TitleReconnaissance Photo, April 1944, Luftwaffe
TextThis reconnaissance image was taken by the Luftwaffe on 22 April 1944. It shows the airfield and the associated instrastructure in Weston Green and Carlton to the north. If you zoom in you can see many aircraft in dispersal and one on the main runway. This was taken when 1651 HCU was stationed at Wratting Common; the aircraft will all be Short Stirlings. After the war ended the US military took possession of all Luftwaffe reconnaissance photography; it is now in the US National Archives.
